The project offers an alternative to the existing separation between infrastructure activity and human activity in an intensive urban environment. Through strengthening the building rights, adding new functions, and making the building accessible to the general public, I aim to "civilize" the municipal substation.

The intervention in "Hakriya" substation building and maintaining its function, add additional layers to the urban fabric: maintaining the main facade of the building and using the secondary facades tells the story of the post-modernist period in Israeli architecture, characterized by visual richness, eclecticism, and humor. The facade celebrates the architects' ability to give the structure an unconventional character and presence.

The exposure of the technology and electrical activity while going down to the train platforms creates a "museum on the way" experience, and enriches the transit spaces of the underground means of transportation. The utilization of the unused station spaces, and the vertical potential of the building's footprint produce a hybrid of new and old. This move enriches the facades, contributes to street life, and provides space for culture in one of the intensive areas of the city.

The New Transformation Station will serve as an urban landmark, a center for digital culture and a transportation hub that will serve as a gateway to the city: both at street and underground levels.
